Frequently asked questions.

  • Who is the conference for?
    Anyone who builds, ships or maintains machine learning and AI systems in the real world — data scientists, ML and data engineers, MLOps and platform folk, researchers moving work into production, and the people who lead those teams. Talks come from practitioners, so expect detail rather than product pitches.
  • When and where does it take place?
    AI in Production 2027 runs over two days at The Catalyst, 3 Science Square, Newcastle Helix, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5TG. Workshops are on Thursday, 10 June 2027 and talks are on Friday, 11 June 2027.
  • What is the difference between the two days?
    The first day is hands-on: a choice of morning and afternoon workshops, followed by an evening reception. The second day is the conference proper — a single track of talks and lightning talks. You can attend the talks day on its own, or both days together.
  • What time do the days start and finish?
    Registration opens before the first session on both days. Exact start and finish times, along with the full running order, are on the schedule.
  • How do I book a ticket?
    Tickets are sold through Eventbrite — the registration section has current prices and a link to book.
  • Which ticket do I need?
    There are two types: conference only, which covers the talks day, and conference plus workshop, which adds a morning and an afternoon workshop on the first day. Both are available at each price tier.
  • When do prices go up?
    Super early bird prices run until Friday, 8 January 2027 and early bird prices until Friday, 5 March 2027, after which general pricing applies. Booking closes on Friday, 4 June 2027, or earlier if we sell out.
  • Can I change or cancel my booking?
    Ticket changes, transfers to a colleague and refunds are handled through Eventbrite. If you are stuck, get in touch and we will sort it out.
  • How do I get to the venue?
    The Catalyst is a ten-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station, which is around three hours from London and ninety minutes from Edinburgh by train. Newcastle International Airport is about thirty minutes from Central Station on the Metro. You can find the venue on Google Maps.
  • I have access or dietary requirements — who do I tell?
    Let us know as early as you can, either when you book or by emailing us, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  • Will the talks be recorded?
    Talks from AI in Production 2026 are on our YouTube channel, and we plan to record the 2027 talks too. We will confirm the details nearer the time.
  • Can I give a talk?
    Yes — we run an open call for talks and lightning talks, and the abstracts section explains how to submit. The deadline for 2027 is Friday, 29 January 2027.
  • Can my company sponsor the conference?
    We would love to hear from you. Drop us a line via the contact section and we will send over the details.

    The conference is organised by Jumping Rivers, a data science and engineering consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
